Geomagnetic Storm

Every morning, I listen to the news and I heard from Good Morning America that we will be expecting a "Geomagnetic Storm" at 1 pm today, Thursday, 12.14.2006. That is so cool. Sound like something from X-Men or Smallville. What does it mean? Your cell phone or GPS device will not be working so well. Cool!!
