I cannot believe this. PECO energy is Philadelphia's only electric service provider. Since I am a new customer I have to pay PECO a $300 deposit to start my service. What happen if I don't pay? I don't get electric. This is a rip off.
Peco will hold on to my $300 deposit not for 3 months but for freaking 12 months and will return my deposit after I pay my bill on time. I don't give a shit if they give it back (well, yes I do) but for them to require a deposit to start your service. This is madness when there are the one and only electric company in Philadelphia and you have to pay up. What the hell! This is monopoly to its best. I still have to get Verizon and the only phone service provider in Philly. If they tell me they need a deposit, I will tell them to shove it up their ass.
I just want to thank those idiots who rip off the utility company and who does not pay on time or don't pay at all. This is what I have to do to get my electric.
